The Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge was built in 1883.  It connects Brooklyn to Lower Manhattan and is 1.134 miles.  It is a hybrid cable-stayed suspension bridge.  The bridge is an iconic site in New York and is listed as a National Historic Landmark.  There are six lanes for cars and a pedestrian walkway on the 2nd level.  I walked over the bridge to go to the Brooklyn Bridge Park soccer field.  It has great views of the Freedom Tower, Empire State Building, and the Manhattan Bridge.

What is your favorite characteristic of the Brooklyn Bridge?

    Dear Ethan,
I love the arches of the Brooklyn Bridge. I also like the elevated pedestrian walkway. It is a great way to see the skyline of Manhattan.
What do you like the best?

    Dear Ethan,
I think my favorite characteristic of Brooklyn Bridge was the length of the bridge. How long did it take you to walk over the bridge? Since it was built in 1883, I wonder how many times it has been repaired. Do you know?
    Happy trails,
