The Taos Pueblo is the oldest continuously inhabited community in the United States. It is about 1000 years old. The walls of the structure are adobe and made of dirt, rock, straw, and water. There is only one door to every home. The homes are passed down to either a family or individual. There is no electricity, running water, or plumbing. However, they do allow propane. About 150 people are living in the pueblo today. There are some small shops with handmade items on the pueblo. I tried the Fry Bread, it was good. The home in the picture is the north side of the Pueblo. You may have seen a picture of it, since it is one of the most photographed buildings in North America. Have you ever been to a pueblo?
How do the people in the pueblo make a living? Do they go to Santa Fe to work, or do they work around the pueblo?
Ethan, yo he visitado dos pueblos: Taos y Acoma. Me gustaron mucho.
