Santa Fe

Santa Fe is the capital of New Mexico. It is the oldest capital city in the United States, founded around the year 1000. It is also the highest capital city in the United States, at 7,199 feet. The San Miguel Mission is the oldest church in the United States.  The plaza is in the center of town surrounded by many old adobe structures.  There are a lot of art shops in and around it.  I saw a lot of chile peppers.  Chile peppers are the state vegetable.  I had great time visiting Santa Fe and all of New Mexico.  Can you name the state bird of New Mexico?  (Hint:  it can go 26 miles an hour)

We have traveled through New Mexico several times, but learned quite a bit of new information from your descriptions. We certainly enjoyed your travels by reading your blog. It must have been a great trip and you did a great job journalizing.

I’ve never been to New Mexico. Now I can hardly wait to visit! Did you see a roadrunner while you were there? How common are they? What is the best time of year to visit NM?
I look forward to reading more about your travels. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us!!!!

      Dear Aunt Katie,
No, I didn’t see a roadrunner. I think that the best time of year is October. 🙂
